Bellator veteran and upcoming headliner for Uptown Fights IV, Kobe “The Stunna” Ortiz, gave Hurtsbad a little of his time to talk about his upcoming fight with Leroy Fornoff. This will be a middleweight affair headlining a stacked card on Feb. 17^th in Tucson Arizona.

Hurtsbad: Alright, so this is your first fight since your debut in Bellator where you won by KO how does it feel to be fighting on Uptown Fights and as a heavy favorite in the bout?

Kobe: It feels good to fight back in Tucson for one thing. I started my fight career here and I made a lot of friends and fans in this area. Tucson is home to me although I was raised in San Manuel. I consider both places my home.

I don’t consider myself the favorite in this fight. In MMA everyone has a punchers chance. That’s what’s unique about this sport. I’ve seen fighters dominating fights and then being upset at the very last minute due to submission or KO.

I like to use the Sonnen vs. Silva fight where Sonnen dominated 4 rounds and the very last minute was triangle choked.

Hurtsbad: Leroy Fornoff has fought some tough fighters before like Eddie Arizmendi and Lyle Steffens among other how are you preparing for this bout?

Kobe: Fornoff is no slouch when facing tough competitors that’s what I like about him. He has no fear.

I am preparing for this fight just like any other fight. Except I have changed my diet up a little and working more on my Hand speed

Hurtsbad: How do you see this fight going are you looking to work on some things during the fight?

Kobe: My last 3 fights I’ve either TKO'd or KO’d my opponent. I’m just gonna go in and feel him out and find a strategy to beat him.
