Elite Combat Sports Brings 'The Arrival' Event To The San Francisco Bay Area

Press Release By ECS

San Francisco, California (USA): California-based fight promotion Elite Combat Sports (ECS) will make its 2012 debut when it presents “The Arrival” on Saturday, January 28th in Gilroy, California. By showcasing some of California’s top amateur fighters at this exciting event, ECS is exhibiting its commitment to furthering the sports of mixed martial arts and kickboxing on the West Coast. Fighters from all over the Bay Area competing on the card include Brandon Hester, Kurt Filler, Steven Lara, Jason Price, Gilroy’s own Jose Perez, and other hungry young lions, and six championships will be decided. With twelve total fights featuring competitors from nearly a dozen local gyms, NorCal fight fans won’t want to miss this exciting night of fights!

“Gilroy is home to top-ranked boxer Robert ‘The Ghost’ Guerrero…it’s a perfect place to hold a fight event,” said ECS Promoter Mike Espinoza. “I’m grateful ECS has the opportunity to claim its stake in the West Coast martial arts scene, and ‘The Arrival’ is the next step in that process.”

“The Arrival” will take place on Saturday, January 28th at Desero Tequila Town in Gilroy, California. Doors open at 5 PM, with the first fight hitting the cage at 6 PM. Tickets are available online at http://www.elitecombatsports.com/store/tickets.php.

ECS is the product of a merger between World Combat Sports Challenge (WCSC) and the original Elite Combat Sports promotion. WCSC was established to be a premier martial arts promotion that men, women, and children can embrace, whether they are amateur or professional.

“Business and martial arts hold a lot in common,” explains Espinoza. “It takes discipline, dedication, and commitment to be successful at either one of them.”

Espinoza has dedicated many years of his life to promoting, training, and fighting in martial arts. A former three-time world kickboxing and Muay Thai champion, Mike compiled a perfect 32-0 record in competition. Espinoza has surrounded himself with a solid group at ECS, including Dave Madsen, Rick Gutierrez, Geoff Quares, and Daniel Gutierrez. For the last couple of years, health issues have kept Mike and ECS out of the fight world. But now, the company has come back together and is ready to put ECS at the top of the West Coast fight scene where it belongs. The ECS/WCSC merger strives to provide its athletes and fans with the most diverse and exciting combat sports events today.

“We have run some awesome events over the years, and with the recent merger, I’m extremely excited about the direction of ECS,” states Espinoza. “This fight event in Gilroy is the first of several events we’ll have this year, and I know the fighters will deliver a night of action fans won’t soon forget.”
